He co-founded the DIY label Silt Press not to release his own work, but to press limited-run lathe-cut 7-inches for underground noise-folk acts from Appalachia to Oahu. His voice carries the rasp of late-night drive-time radio and the precision of a jazz phrasemaker, less about belting, more about letting consonants catch like gravel in a throat.
